This week marks the start of National Smile Month, sponsored by the British Dental Health Foundation. National Smile Month is all about promoting dental hygiene in the UK and the prevention of gum disease. Did you know that neglecting your teeth and gums can lead to a variety of health problems including heart disease, strokes and diabetes?

To prevent this, it is recommended that you:

•    Replace your toothbrush regularly
•    Visit the dentist as often as they recommend
